Scheme Overview

The Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) is a transformative scheme launched by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to promote solar irrigation pumps for farmers across India. Component B of this scheme focuses on installing standalone solar pumps for individual farmers.

This scheme enables farmers to replace diesel/electric pumps with solar-powered irrigation systems, reducing operational costs while ensuring reliable water supply for crops. Additionally, farmers can sell surplus solar power to the grid and earn extra income.
